A Place to Wonder
As a Quaker I enjoy the sacredness of silence, the holiness of the present moment, the pursuit of wonder, and the practice of listening for “that of God” in all whom I encounter. Welcome to my blog - a space for me to share my thoughts and wonders about how my Quaker practices influence my work as a theatre artist and storyteller.

The image of the daisy growing in the broken rubble was created by Darryl Brown for a production of Whatever Kindles by Tricia Gates Brown at George Fox University (October, 2007). The play’s title is an abbreviation of Saint Teresa of Avila's spiritual direction,“Do whatever most kindles love in you.”

Good stories, and by extension, good theatre, are like daisies in the rubble that point us in the direction of love, hope and wholeness. Good stories are honest about the broken rubble of life, but are also honest about its joys, its wonders and its beauty. The struggle is real, and yet we persist. And on rare occasions, when we kindle love, we give ourselves and others the chance to bloom.

Wherever you are in life's journey, may the thoughts below offer you a little bit of encouragement in your own pursuit of love, wonder and wholeness.
